“MFM US Branch Triumphs in Defamation Lawsuit Against Nigerian Blogger Ashekun

The US branch of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) recently secured a victory in a defamation lawsuit against a US-based Nigerian blogger named Ashekun.

The legal dispute, settled in the Baltimore County Circuit Court, centered around a YouTube video where Ashekun allegedly defamed MFM and its General Overseer, Dr. Daniel Olukoya. The court awarded MFM $50,000 in damages.

The pastors of the US branch, Grace Ugeh, Kunle Ladipo, and Adekunle Adekola, filed the lawsuit against Ashekun for his YouTube video, which portrayed the church and its pastors as sexual abusers.

Justice Theresa Adams, presiding over the case with suit number C-03-CV-22-004424, ruled in favor of MFM and awarded $50,000 in damages against Ashekun.

In response to the court’s decision, Gilbert Gracia, the church’s counsel, expressed satisfaction, stating, ‘The church was gratified that the jury found in favor and vindicated our position.’ This information was disclosed by an aide to the General Overseer, Collins Edomaruse.”
