Bishop David Oyedepo Advises CU Graduate Students, See What He Said

The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide aka Winners Chapel and Chancellor of Covenant UniversityBishop Dr. David Oyedepo, has advised postgraduate students of the University to consistently ask God for guidance at every point in their journey in life.

The counsel came during a special session the Chancellor had with graduate school students at the University.

Speaking on the theme “The Power of Discovery“, Dr. Oyedepo said the discovery of one’s purpose in life is the greatest of all discoveries, noting that man is a product of God’s factory where each one’s purpose is predetermined. He warned students not to confuse ambition with purpose, as this is a recipe for a life of frustration.

Dr. Oyedepo said every person has an appointed place in God’s agenda, as security and dignity are guaranteed in the appointed place of each individual. “Life becomes miserable when one walks away from his God-appointed place,” Dr. Oyedepo added.

He cautioned against going contrary to divine ordination as it results in being tolerated instead of being celebrated. The Chancellor said the end-time giants are people who are mindful of the purpose and plan of God in their lives and have committed themselves to staying at the center of that plan.

He said, “When you are living God’s plans and purpose for you, all things will continue to work together for your good. As such, taking steps without asking God is always an adventure in frustration. When the backing of God is not there, destiny becomes vulnerable and helpless.”

Dr. Oyedepo said without subscribing to God’s leading the future will be bleak. Therefore, the importance of allowing God to lead in all of one’s engagement, both in academic and professional engagement.

“Always ask God for His purpose; watch out for God speaking to you from His word; and remain a man of the spirit, as it is what will bring you into the frequency with God,” he advised.

He concluded by asking the audience to always apply certain principles that are associated with divine presence and leading. These include unusual peace and joy unspeakable, full of glory.

In appreciation, the Chairperson of the Postgraduate Students’ Council, Mr. Ogaba Moses; Vice-Chairperson, Male, Owusu-Ansah Samuel Kwesi Tawiah and Vice-Chairperson, Female, Olugboyegun Damilola led other executives of the student body to present the Chancellor with a portrait in commemoration of his 68th birthday.

Present at the special session were the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abiodun H. Adebayo; the Deans of Colleges; and members of the University Management.
